
A man has been arrested after a pensioner was seriously injured in a collision in Barrow.
Emergency services were called to Hindpool Road, near DW Fitness, following a report of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian at around 4.15pm on Wednesday December 10.
The pedestrian – a woman in her 80s from the Barrow area – sustained serious injuries.
She was taken to Royal Preston Hospital, where her condition was described as serious.
The road was closed for a number of hours while a forensic collision investigation was carried out.
The driver of the car – a man in his 40s – was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
He was bailed pending further enquiries.
