West Cumbrian rivals Workington Town and Whitehaven have agreed the date for next year’s Ike Southward Memorial Trophy.
It will be played at the Fibrus Community Stadium on Sunday January 11, a week before the new Championship season starts.
Whitehaven will go into the game as holders after an 18-12 win at the Ortus Rec before last season got underway.
Southward, one of the great names from Town’s history, died in 2006 aged 71 and the pre-season game between the two neighbours and rivals has been a permanent fixture since then.
It is a week before the new season gets underway with the revamped Championship in which Town start with another derby clash, at Barrow while Haven entertain Sheffield.
