Woman in critical condition after Barrow crash

A woman in her 80s is in a critical condition following a collision in Barrow earlier this week.

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to come forward to the incident, which happened on Hindpool Road on Wednesday, December 10.

It involved a car and the woman, who was a pedestrian.

Officers from Cumbria police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit would like to speak to anyone that was on that road between 4.10pm and 4.20pm – in particular anyone who has dashcam footage of the area at that time.

Police are keen to establish the movements of the woman, who using a walking aid.

The driver of the car – a man in his 40s – was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. They were bailed pending further enquiries.
