Carlisle United face a long trip in the fourth round of the FA Trophy – all the way to Kent to take on Isthmian League Premier Division opposition.
Chatham Town lie third in the current table and earned their place in the fourth round with a 3-0 home win over Plymouth Parkway on Saturday.
Carlisle’s visit to Chatham will pit them against one of the lowest-ranked teams left in the competition and will be the first time the sides have met in any form.
Chatham have a home fixture tonight against the bottom side in the League Potter’s Bar Town – which has caused extra interest because of what happened on Saturday.
The Potters Bar manager was injured after reports of a fight that took place before the game with Welling United match.
The match was cancelled at Park View Road due to the fight between two men just before 1.20pm – less than two hours before kick-off.
Officers were called and a 38-year-old was found with injuries to his face.
According to a Potters Bar Town statement, this was manager Sammy Moore.
A club statement by Potters Bar Town read: “Today’s scheduled fixture at Welling United was abandoned prior to kick-off following a serious incident involving a member of our management team.
“Police attended the ground and, following their involvement, the match was unable to proceed. Our manager is receiving appropriate medical care and the club is supporting him fully.
“The matter has been referred to the relevant authorities, including the league and The FA, and we are seeking formal advice. As this is now subject to ongoing processes, the club will not be making any further comment at this time.”
A man, 42, was arrested afterwards on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
It is not known whether Moore will be in the dugout for tonight’s game with Chatham.
