Workington manager Billy Barr has landed a second midfielder to aid Reds fight to climb the NPL Premier Division table.
This latest arrival will need no introduction to the fans as Brad Carroll was a popular member of the Reds engine room under Danny Grainger and Chris Willcock.
The Barrow-born Carroll played for his home town club as well as Kendal and Clitheroe before joining Reds and subsequently moved to Lancaster City and then to Bury.
He suffered a serious knee injury right at the start of last season which limited his appearances for the Shakers and had a spell on loan at Clitheroe at the start of the present season.
Carroll, who will be 29 next month, joins Reds on an extended loan until the end of the season.
