LISTEN: Billy Barr’s thoughts on Workington Reds new signings

Workington’s two Christmas recruits will be in the squad for today’s NPL Premier Division trip to Cleethorpes.

Ne-Jai Tucker has joined from Southport on a month’s loan while Brad Carroll make a return to Borough Park from Bury on loan until the end of the season.

Manager Billy Barr was relieved that both clearances were obtained in time for them to join the squad which will be taking on Cleethorpes in a first fixture between the two clubs.

It takes Barr’s recruitment to four with Tyler Magliore and Isaac Whitehall already impressive in their work so far for the team.

However, it does look as though Magliore will be off in the new year to join a Scottish Championship club after a successful trial recently.

Reds were also unsuccessful with their appeal over Charlie Barnes’ sending-off in the last game against Stockton Town.

Barr thought it was worthy of an appeal but the red card stood.

One or two players were nursing knocks at Tuesday’s training session and there will have to be late decisions tomorrow.

You can hear what Billy Barr thought of the signings below:
