Dan Abram, who ended last season on loan with Whitehaven, is going to miss the start of the 2026 campaign.
The 30-year-old has fractured his hand and will have to wait for his Championship debut with new club Hunslet.
Abram had signed a one-year deal with the South Leeds Stadium in October, but it has been suggested he could be out of action for up to three months.
He had ended 2025 out on loan with Whitehaven – his second spell with the club – having fallen out of favour with Swinton Lions.
Interestingly the re-vamped Championship will see Haven, Swinton and his new club Hunslet all competing in the second tier which now comprises of 21 clubs following the merger with League One.
