A South Cumbrian hospice will hold an open day to launch its outreach services for the Lake District.
St Mary’s Hospice is inviting people to its new base at the Ladyholme Centre in Windermere on Saturday, January 17 from 11am to 3pm.
The event marks the introduction of weekly dementia support groups and bereavement cafés in Windermere, expanding St Mary’s Hospice’s commitment to providing care, support and connection closer to home for individuals and families.
People will have the opportunity to meet members of the St Mary’s Hospice team, learn more about the new services, and find out how hospice care can support people living with serious illness, dementia, and bereavement.
The hospice team will deliver short, informal talks at 11.30am, 12.30pm, 1.30pm and 2.30pm, offering insight into the new services and the wider support available from St Mary’s Hospice. Refreshments will be available, and attendees can also learn more about volunteering opportunities within the hospice.
Lynsey Lawson, head of community services at St Mary’s Hospice, said: “We are delighted to be bringing our services into Windermere and to welcome the community to our open day.
“This is an opportunity for people to find out how we can support them and their loved ones, ask questions, and connect with our friendly team in a relaxed and welcoming environment.”
