A Cumbrian developer has been given the go-ahead for the next phase of an estate in Whitehaven.
Story Homes has been given permission from Cumberland Council for phases six and seven of Edgehill Park.
Phase six will be a new design of home for the housebuilder.
Story Homes said: “The new house type collection is designed for residents who may not want the burden of maintaining large private gardens, making high-quality public open space a vital element of the scheme.
“Purposefully positioned green spaces will provide areas for relaxation, social gatherings and fitness, helping to create a strong sense of community.”
Homes will incorporate energy-efficient features and innovative heating systems.
Philip Fell, land manager for Story Homes Cumbria & Scotland, said: “We’re delighted to have secured planning consent for the next phases at Edgehill Park.
“Whitehaven has been an important location for Story Homes for many years, and phase six represents an exciting step forward with the introduction of our new collection of house types.

“It’s been rewarding to see how our developments have evolved to reflect changing lifestyles while continuing to deliver high-quality, well-designed homes.
“Edgehill Park is now home to hundreds of residents, and it’s fantastic to see the development continue to grow. These new house types are an exciting addition, offering homes that are practical, flexible and ideally suited to the way people want to live today.”
The new collection of house types is set to launch in the autumn.
