Workington Reds boss Billy Barr will be watching an NPL West Division game tomorrow to check on a recommended player.
Keen to strengthen his squad in the fight to avoid the NPL Premier Division drop zone, he has been given the name of a player worth a look.
Reds don’t have a fixture tomorrow as the spare team in a 21-strong league following the withdrawal of Widnes.
“It’s a good opportunity to have a look at this player after I was tipped off about him. I’ve been making a lot of enquiries about players and the real frustrating part is when people don’t get back tom you,” he told Cumbria Crack.
He also revealed that centre-back Tyler Magliore has been training with a League One club for two days this week after nothing positive came from his trial with a Scottish Championship club.
Magliore played for Reds on Tuesday in a splendid 2-2 draw at FC United when they came desperately close to a win. He had missed the previous game at Whitby.
He was a regular performer in League One last season with Northampton and his performances for the Reds have suggested it won’t long before he’s back in League football.
“He’s been excellent for us and I’m keeping my fingers crossed we’ve helped him get back into full-time football, He deserves it,” said Barr.
Reds return to training on Tuesday and Thursday before next Saturday’s home clash with title chasing Hebburn Town.
