The Malcolm Wilson Rally has been cancelled for 2026.

A statement has been issued by organisers announcing the cancellation of the event, which is in its 49th year.

It said the North Lakes forests had becomes unavailable due to the costs of regrading.

Organisers said despite tirelessly trying to work out a plan with Forestry England, a solution could not be found.

They said: “Without those forests, there was simply no answer to those logistical issues.

“Motorsport UK became involved in the later stages of negotiations in an intense few days but sadly a solution could not be found.

“We will continue to talk to Forestry England and hope the issues can be resolved in the future.”

It was due to take place on March 7 and its stages include Comb, Hobcarton, Wythop, Greystoke and Grizedale North and South.

Organisers added: “Apologies to all those who wished to enter and also those support
teams that we rely on.”
