Dan Long (Sun Inn B)

With Aspatria Pool League leaders Sun Inn A having a vacant date, there was a big match in prospect between Sun Inn B (2nd) and Throstle A (3rd).

Throstle got off to a flying start with wins from John Mackenzie, Alex Studholme and Martyn Frizell, giving them a 3-1 lead, with only David Edwards replying for Sun Inn B.

Wins from Dan Long and Ian Frizzle for Sun Inn B brought the match level at 3-3 after the singles, before Ben Scott and Gary Miller grabbed the first double for the Aspatria side.

Dan Long and David Edwards also won the second doubles for the Sun to clinch the match, but Throstle then took the last frame but had lost the match 5-4.

Throstle B played at home to Miners B, and Chris Hird got the visitors off to a good start by winning the first frame, before the match swung both ways.

The singles ended 3-3 but then Miners took control of the match winning the first two doubles through Mark Armstrong and Shane Parrott before Hird and Darren Bowe before Throstle B won the last frame for the match to finish 5-4 to Miners.

Letters B played host to Cumberland A, and it was a match which produced some inspired pool.

Cumberland got off to a flying start by taking a 3-1 lead, with wins from Geoff Davies, Willie Graham and Dave Eland, while the next two frames were shared.

Trailing 4-2 Letters B pulled it back by winning the first double thanks to Liam Millican and Alex Barton, but Cumberland held strong to take the next game with some solid pool from Kane Lennon and Alan Todhunter to win the match.

Rob Sewell, with his second win of the night took the last double for Letters partnering Dan Batty, as Cumberland A finished the 5-4 winners.

Lewis Fisher (Sun Inn FC)

Miners A played Wigton Rugby Club and in form Craig Wilson got them off to a good start.  Paul Cuthell then made it 2-0, before Louis Elliott pulled one back for the Rugby Club.

Paul Clarke and Barry Wilson then helped the Miners team take a 4-2 lead into the doubles. Wilson, along with super sub Darryl Creighton, then won the first double for Miners A to win the match.

Wigton Rugby Club did pull one back but Craig Wilson and Karl Charters took the last frame for the Miners to win 6-3.

Cumberland B took on Letters A at Silloth and both teams shared the first four frames before Adam Hocking and Robbie Perks clinched the last two singles for the Cumberland to go into the doubles 4-2 up.

Then, with their second wins of the night Adam Hocking and Steve Whitehead won the first doubles for Cumberland to ensure the points,

The next two doubles were shared, as Perks also won his second frame of the night as Cumberland B finished with a 6-3 win.

Wigton Park BC, who continue to climb the table, took on Sun Inn FC, and a dominant display of pool gave the Bowlers a 4-2 lead after the singles, thanks to Brady Bell, Steve Farish, Gareth Davenport and Tommy Barton.

Lewis Fisher and David Wilson had the wins for Sun Inn FC, but Wigton Park BC finished the match winning the first two doubles, Davenport with his second win of the night, Sun Inn won the last doubles with Lewis Fisher also winning his second game, but Wigton continued their recent good form with the 6-3 win.
