The first of the Cumbria Cup semi-finals is being staged on Saturday with two Regional 2 North rivals in opposition.
Keswick entertain Upper Eden at Davidson Park and on recent form and League positions it should be a tight one.
The other semi-final between Kendal and holders Penrith will be played on February 21.
Keswick have won the trophy six times – all within a nine-year golden spell immediately after World War Two.
From 1947 to 1955 they missed out three times as Workington lifted the trophy.
A relatively new club, compared to their rivals, Upper Eden made history in the 2022/23 season when they reached the final for the first time but lost to neighbours Penrith 38-5.
As far as this season is confirmed Keswick are 7th in the table, one place and three points better off than the Pennine Park side.
Jonny Watson will take charge, assisted by Simon Barker and Cieran Trainor.
Penrith are the Cup holders after beating Kendal in last season’s final they beat Kendal 36-31 at Wigton.
Penrith have won the trophy each season since 2018/19 apart from 2020 and 2021 when there was no competition because of Covid.
This season’s competition is being sponsored by Webb Ellis.
