There were 16 entries for the Sun Inn, Aspatria’s under-21s darts competition, including previous winner Jake Graves looking to retain his title.
Sun Inn’s Zane Alderson took the favourite out in the first half of the competition before he himself fell to Finley Maguire to set up a semi-final with Owen Pattinson.
Owen was superb all day but was defeated in the first half final by Sun Inn’s Jayden Faulder who won by beating birthday boy Matty McCartney, 18, in the first round, fellow Maryport Junior Dart Club member Harry Stagg in the second and Olly Lowes in the semi.
In the second half Jayden Faulder continued his fine form defeating nine-year-old Jack Lindsay in the first round. Young Jack threw some great darts including a 100.
Jayden again took out Owen Pattinson before setting up a second half semi final with Jake Graves who beat Matty McCartney in the first round then came from 2-0 down against Harry Stagg to win 3-2.

Jake went through to the final to meet Zane Alderson who had taken his revenge on Finlay McGuire in the semi final.

Zane had darts to level the game 2-2 but this time it was Jake who came out victorious and he progressed to the overall final to meet Jayden.

Jake came out overall winner and retained his title saving his best game on the day for the final including his first 180 of the day.

Most 180’s on the day was Jayden Faulder who had a very impressive four of them and also a 133 checkout.

Thirteen-year-old Reegan Leggit also impressed with his own 118 checkout.
A special thanks went to Matt Glencross who helped competition and volunteered to mark any games that the youngsters weren’t confident of doing themselves.
