West Cumbria Amalgamation fanciers will have the chance to compete in a special Gold Ring race at the end of the 2026 young bird season.
There was no A ring race last year or for the coming season, and that had proved very popular and successful.
Flimby HS insist that this event they are organising is not a replacement, but will provide extra interest at the end of the season for members of the Derwent Valley Federation and West Cumberland Federation.
Unlike the A ring race there will be no auctions and the prize money will come from the sale of 100 rings.
They are available at £10 each and are limited to two per loft, obtainable from Jimmy Nelson at Long and Small in Flimby.
The race chosen will be the longest in the young bird programme and will have three prizes, amount to be confirmed nearer the date.
