
Alison Steadman will appear in Kendal next month to help raise funds for the town’s Brewery Arts.
The Gavin & Stacey and Abigail’s Party star will share stories, anecdotes and behind-the-scenes insights from her remarkable career at the event on March 20.
The event is a fundraiser for Brewery Arts’ activities in youth and community engagement in the arts.
The actress will be in conversation with BAFTA winning director and executive producer Christine Gernon.
It will be hosted by Brewery Arts CEO Miriam Randall and board member Charlie Pattinson.
Ticket packages are available, including a meet and greet with Ms Steadman.
She is one of the most highly respected actresses of stage and screen, appointed an OBE in 2000.
On screen, her collaborations with Mike Leigh include Nuts in May, Abigail’s Party, Topsy Turvy and Leigh’s Life Is Sweet and has been twice nominated for BAFTAs for iconic television roles in Fat Friends and The Singing Detective.
Steadman won the US National Society of Film Critics Award for Best Actress for Life Is Sweet and the Olivier for Best Actress for her role in The Rise and Fall of Little Voice.
In 2024, she appeared in feature film, Better Man, directed by Michael Gracey and reprised her role as Pamela in the much-anticipated Christmas special finale
of Gavin & Stacey.
