There’s a full programme of Premier Division games scheduled for the Cumberland County League tomorrow.
Certainly prospects are brighter than last week when only two games were played across the two divisions.
Unisun Athletic went top with a big 7-2 home win against Cockermouth – the side they will meet in the Conway Cup final later in the season.
Tomorrow they travel west to take on Workington Juniors whose progress up the table was recently ended by a shock 5-1 home defeat by Cockermouth, two weeks after they had won 4-1 at champions Maryport Athletic.
So clearly a question of which Workington side will turn-up to take-on the league leaders?
Unisun now have it in their own hands to clinch the title, currently sitting two points above Maryport Athletic with a game in hand.
They are also four points ahead of Workington Juniors from two less games.
The champions have to find their winning ways again and keep on clocking up the victories to retain their title and tomorrow they will host Wigton Harriers at Milltoft.
Mirehouse and Workington Miners Social are fourth and fifth, just about clinging to the belief that if there are slip-ups ahead of them they can come through to sneak it.
Both are on 19 points from the same number of games and tomorrow Mirehouse travel to Aspatria while the Miners entertain Cleator Moor Celtic reserves.
Keswick, still looking for their first win in 2026 go to Cockermouth, who will be looking for a performance after last week’s collapse at Unisun.
There are four games in Division One and the two title contenders will be expecting to pick up maximum points from their fixtures.
Dearham United are at home to Whitehaven reserves, and they are two points clear of Northbank with a game in hand.
Northbank have a Carlisle derby in prospect as they take on Unisun Athletic Development at the Sheepmount.
The other two games are Bransty Rangers v Silloth and Carlisle City Development v Cockermouth reserves.
