Carlisle City’s winless run in the Northern League Division One continued last night at Whickham.
The hosts are fighting a relegation battle and won this one 2-1 against a City side short of confidence after a poor run and a lack of games in 2026.
City had started on the front foot and forced a series of corners while Jordan Holt hit the side-netting with one effort.
But Whickham rode out the early threats and took the lead on 33 minutes when Mason Hardy finished off a left wing cross.
It stayed 1-0 until half-time but Whickham doubled their lead wight minutes after the break through Liam Heywood.
Substitute Jordan Palmer gave City hope when he scored with a 71st minute free-kick but they couldn’t find an equaliser in the time that was left.
