
Sun Inn FC were still looking for their first win of the year when they made the short journey to Letters B in the Aspatria Pool League.
It proved to be a successful trip, too, as they got off the mark for 2026 with a 6-3 victory.
Zane Alderson got the Sun team off to a good start by winning the first frame before Liam Millican pulled it level for Letters.
Sun then took control of the match, winning three of the next four frames to lead 4-2 going into the doubles.
Letters B then made the match interesting thanks to Rob Sewell and Liam Millican, but a full length of the table double from Tommi Allen secured the win.
Matty McCartney and Lewis Fisher then won the last double for Sun Inn FC with Matty winning both his games.
It was in-house derby night at the Miners Inn, Prospect, where the A team took on the B team.
It was the B team who came out of the blocks quickly, taking a 2-0 lead thanks to Chris Hird and Darren Bowe, but the A team stormed back by winning the next four singles, thanks to Karl Charters, Andrew Wilson, Paul Cuthell and Barry Wilson.
Stu Irwin and Andrew Wilson then confirmed the win by winning the first double, while the last two doubles were shared, and the A team ended by winning the match 6-3. Andrew and Barry Wilson both had two wins.
Cumberland A travelled to Wigton Rugby Club, and it was the home team who made an excellent start by winning the first three frames thanks to Louis Elliott, Luke Marshall-Dowell and Steven Rumney.
Willie Graham and Kane Lennon won their frames for the Cumberland who trailed 4-2 after the singles.
Cumberland A then won the first double to make the match tighter, but the Wigton team went on to win the match by taking the last two doubles for a 6-3 win.
Eddie Miller and Steven Rumney won the decisive frame for the Rugby Club.
Cumberland B took on Throstle B in Silloth but it was Wayne Jackson who gave the Wigton visitors an early 1-0 lead.
Cumberland then stormed into a big lead thanks to Robbie Perks, Steven Whitehead, Adam Hocking and Joe Thompson to lead 4-2 after the singles.
They then ran away with the match convincingly by winning the last three doubles for an easy 7-2 win.
