The family of a man who died following a collision with a HGV on the A6 earlier this year have paid tribute to his life.
Peter Cox died following the incident, south of Hackthorpe, near Penrith, on Wednesday, January 28.
Cumbria police said their investigation into the collision remained ongoing.
Mr Cox’s family said: “As a family we are absolutely heartbroken at losing Pete in such a sudden and devastating way.
“A dearly loved grandfather, father, brother and father-in-law, he will be greatly missed by his family and friends but leaves us all with many happy memories.
“Pete led a very active lifestyle. He cycled daily, was a keen hillwalker and enjoyed nothing more than being outdoors exploring the Lake District.
“He also loved his sport, playing cricket well into his 50s and was an avid follower of horseracing and rugby.
“Pete lived happily in Lowther for the past 27 years and we have taken comfort in the many messages of support that we have received from the local community during this extremely difficult time.
“We would also like to express our gratitude to the emergency services and members of the public who attended the scene.”
