After three successive defeats Barrow stopped the rot with a 2-2 draw at Cheltenham last night.
It was enough to move them out of the drop zone on goal difference but it could have been three points instead of just the one.
Cheltenham needed a last-minute equaliser to snatch the draw after they had earlier taken the lead.
The home side had taken the lead after 15 minutes when James Wilson found Isaac Hutchinson with a fine ball and the cross was steered home by Tranmere loanee Josh Davison who was scoring his first goal for the club.
Barrow had to wait until the 39th minute to level through the quick reactions of Isaac Fletcher. He pounced smartly after a shot from Charlie McCann came back off the post.
The Bluebirds went in front after 59 minutes when Wilson tripped Tom Barkhuizen in the area and although Josh Gordon’s penalty was blocked by home keeper Joe Day, he followed up to drive home the rebound.
Day had then to produce a fine save to keep out a 74th minute header from Freddie Anderson but Barrow couldn’t hold onto their advantage.
A low cross from substitute George Miller was guided home by Hutchinson in the last minute to salvage a point for Cheltenham who remain nine points ahead of the south Cumbrians.
