
Free tours of a Lake District village will be offered to mark English Tourism Week.
Grasmere Gingerbread is supporting the national initiative, which runs from March 13 to March 22 by offering the free Blue Badge Guide walks around Grasmere and free Talk & Taste experiences outside The Grasmere Gingerbread Shop.
Joanne Hunter, co-director of Grasmere Gingerbread, said: “It’s our way of saying thank you to all the visitors to the Lake District who, in travelling here to enjoy our spectacular landscapes and hospitality, help support our economy.
“I hope that local residents and visitors alike will take advantage of these fabulous free activities in Grasmere during English Tourism Week.”
Experienced Blue Badge Guides Tess Pike and Alison Pickering are hosting three one hour walks around Grasmere on Monday March 16 at 2pm; Wednesday March 18 at 2pm and Friday March 20 at 2pm from the Stock Lane Car Park in the village.
Grasmere Gingerbread is hosting five Talk & Taste experiences outside The Grasmere Gingerbread on Monday March 16 at 3pm; Tuesday March 17 at 3pm; Wednesday March 18 at 3pm, Thursday March 19 at 3pm and Friday March 20 at 3pm.
