Barrow Raiders have recalled centre Seth Woodend from his loan spell with Whitehaven.
The youngster has scored in each of the two games he has played for Haven but Barrow’s mounting list of unavailability for the weekend has prompted a rethink by the Furness club.
Tom Walker, Jarrad Stack, Andrew Bulman and Shane Toal are all out of the squad for the 1895 Cup-tie at London Broncos.
Woodend had done well for Haven playing and scoring in the two games where they picked up Championship points – a 20-0 win over Rochdale and a 20-20 draw with Midlands.
Whitehaven do not have a game this weekend as they avoided the preliminary round of the 1895 Cup and are waiting for the first round proper on April 18/19 when they will visit Goole Vikings.
Workington Town, however, are involved in the preliminary round this Sunday when they will entertain Newcastle Thunder, a much-improved side after their link up with York Knights.
Town will go into it in good heart after a 52-10 home win over Salford on Sunday in which trialist winger Jake Dickinson scored four tries and was named Championship Player of the Week by trade paper Rugby League Express.
