Up to eight vehicles were involved in a collision on the M6.
Cumbria police said the incident was reported at around 2.30pm today, Thursday March 12 and happened southbound between J38 (Tebay) and J37 (Kendal).
Traffic was being held but the road reopened at around 3.10pm.
No serious injuries have been reported at this time.
