The Cumberland FA is looking for nominations of volunteers to put forward for a Grassroots Football award.

A spokesman for the County said: “It’s a chance to shine a light on the amazing work our volunteers bring to the grassroots game in Cumberland by putting them forward for national recognition.

“Nominate a volunteer for a Grassroots Football Award, and you’re putting their amazing dedication under the spotlight, and saying thanks for the positive differences they’re making for players, clubs and communities.

“With lots of categories to nominate in, ask yourself who you know who’s having a big impact…then nominate them for a Grassroots Football Award.”

The categories for 2026 are as follows:

Club of the Year

Which club deserves your thanks? Who’s done something amazing…for their players or their community?

League of the Year

Which league has gone above and beyond? Who’s made football more enjoyable for more people?

Match Official of the Year

Young Volunteer of the Year

Grounds Team of the Year

Which grounds team makes sure their facilities – from pitch to clubhouse – are always ready for the game? Who goes that extra mile?

New Volunteer of the Year

Which new volunteer has burst onto the scene this year? Who’s come in, had real impact, and made a big difference?

Positive Behaviour Award

Who’s used the power of football to improve others’ lives? Who’s created opportunities and improved inclusivity in their community?

Coach of the Year Female Pathway

Who’s inclusive, encouraging and inspiring for female players? Who’s had a positive impact on the women and girls game?
