Glasgow Central Railway Station will remain closed until at least next Wednesday.
The station closed to all trains following a major fire at a nearby building on Sunday, March 8.
Low-level services have resumed but services, including cross-border routes, are still not operating. It affects Avanti West Coast and TransPennine Express services which travel through Carlisle.
TransPennine services travelling southbound from Carlisle are also being cancelled as a result of the incident.
National Rail said the disruption was expected to last until the end of the day on Tuesday, March 17.
Network Rail said the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service handed over the site on Thursday to Glasgow City Council, which has established an exclusion zone while the remediation work takes place. This cordon continues to cover the high‑level area of Central Station, including the Union Street, Gordon Street and Hope Street entrances.
It added: “With the council’s critical work still underway, Network Rail engineers cannot yet gain access to the station. We will continue to work closely with Glasgow City Council as its teams progress the demolition and stabilisation of the area.”
No significant structural issues have been identified at Glasgow Central by Network Rail’s specialist teams. Any damage, including to the glazing and water ingress, has been contained to a small office on the Union Street side of the station.
