A vehicle fire on the A66 along Bassenthwaite Lake closed the road.
The road was closed in both directions after the incident at the top end of the lake, near Dubwath and Embleton.
The vehicle – believed to be a JCB – was on fire earlier this afternoon, Monday March 16.
Crews dealt with an oil spillage on the carriageway.
