Hartside Pass was closed in both directions yesterday following a serious collision.
Emergency services were called to the incident which happened during the afternoon of Wednesday March 18.
Westmorland & Furness Council erected road closed signs at Melmerby, the Alston side of the incident and two side roads to the A686.
It is understood the road has now reopened today, Thursday March 19.
