A tenant has been banned from their Kendal home for three months after persistent anti-social behaviour.
South Cumbria Magistrates Court issued a closure order for the property on Kirkland View today, Wednesday March 18.
The order bans anyone – other than police and housing provider – from entering the home.
Anyone found in breach of the order can be arrested.
The current occupant must vacate the property and cannot return in the three-month period.
It was issued following persistent anti-social behaviour from the address which had a significant negative impact on other residents and neighbours and local emergency services, South Lakes Police said.
PC James Ruane led the work to address this issue.
He said “We would like to thank local residents for reporting concerns and for their ongoing support for our efforts to address the crime and anti social behaviour which emanated from it.
“We hope that the action taken serves as an example of the consequences for those whose behaviour has such negative impact on others.
“We will enforce the restrictions imposed by the court.”
