
In the Maryport Pool League, the Sun Inn Ballers took on the Sharks in an inhouse derby, with both teams looking to bounce back from last week’s defeats.
Sharks took the opening frame as Jobby Dunn beat Gary Miller with Luke Kershaw then making it 2-0.
Willy Armstrong pulled one back for the Ballers before Mel Scott made it 3-1 and Kershaw and Dunn then secured the victory in the opening double.
That was swiftly followed by Scott and David Wilson making it 5-1, while in the final frame Kershaw, with a stunning 8ball clearance made it 6-1.
Sun Inn Cannons were also at home to Butchers B and it was Butchers who took the lead as Simon Marr beat Tommi Allan, but Zane Alderson made it 1-1.
Lewis Fisher then put the Cannons in front but it was swiftly all square as Lee Hodgson took the fourth frame.
The Cannons took the first two2 doubles to clinch the victory, Allan and Alderson winning the first followed by Fisher and Matty McCartney for a 4-3 final scoreline. It leaves Butchers B still seeking their first point.
Butchers A, however, are in much better form and they remain joint top after beating Sun Inn, Dearham 4-3 with singles wins for Lee Volkaerts and Colin Stables.
Then there were doubles wins for Volkaerts and George Close, followed by Kevin Gartland and Stables.
Dearham’s singles wins came from Danny Dryden and Blake Miller.
Swan continued their fine form with a 4-3 win at home to Maryport Rugby Club B with Mark Mattocks and Matty Little giving the Swan two points from the singles. The Rugby club had wins by Kieran Scott and Robbie Pattinson.
Carl Daley and David Miller took the first double to make it 3-2 but Laverty and Harris then tied the match 3-3. Gareth Pattinson and Little won the deciding frame to earn the win for the Swan.
The Bowling Club took on Glasson Rangers and it was one way traffic as Paul Kirkbride led the way in the opening frame for his sixth singles win of the season.
Anthony Brough and Jason Miller then put the Bowlers into a 3-0 lead, before Kieran Hughes pulled one back for Rangers.
But that was as good as it got as the Bowling Club won all three doubles to make it 6-1.

Elbra A took on Elbra C and it was a comfortable 7-0 victory. Tony Lambert, Pat Walton, Jason Thompson and John McCracken were all in fine form in the singles and substitute Aaron Rowley helped win the doubles.
Maryport Social played host to Elbra B and it was Elbra that raced into a 3-0 lead through Roger Rivers, Matty and Ian Frizzle.
Stephen Ismay pulled it back to 3-1 but Elbra took the first two doubles to secure a 5-2 win.
Maryport Rugby League Club A v Grasslot Welfare started with Ian Pattinson taking the first frame for the Rugby Club. Grasslot then won three on the spin via Barry Shearman, Keith Anderson and Trevor Bethwaite to lead 3-1.
The Rugby Club, though, then won all the doubles to secure a 4-3 victory.
