Barrow are heading back to the National League unless there is a dramatic improvement over the last eight games of the season.
Bottom of the table Bluebirds were crushed 5-0 at Grimsby as the Mariners continued their battle for the play-off positions.
It was a totally dominant performance from the home side as Barrow looked woefully short of confidence and ideas.
An old-Holker Street favourite Andy Cook started the misery when he headed Grimsby in front on 17 minutes, getting on the end of a cross from Darragh Burns and directing it in off the foot of the post.
The second goal came after 41 minutes when a quick counter-attack ended with a low cross from Jaze Kabia being rifled home first time by Kieran Green.
There had been very little threat from Barrow and it was virtually all over on 61 minutes when Grimsby scored a third.
This time it was top-scorer Kabia who went through before beating Wyll Stanway with a low, angled drive.
A strong headed finish by Green from a corner by Reece Staunton provided the fourth and in the tenth minute of time added on Kabia added his second with a simple finish from Justin Amaluzor’s cross.
