Trailing at half-time, Carlisle United roared back to beat Boston United 6-2 at Brunton Park and stay on course for a third place finish.
It was only a second defeat in 11 games for in-form Boston while Carlisle were bouncing back from a poor display last time out at Tamworth.
Luke Armstrong had given Carlisle the lead on 24 minutes but two quick goals inside three minutes before the break took Boston into the dressing room ahead.
Jordy Hiwula-Mayifuila (37) and Frankie Maguire (40) struck to quieten the home crowd.
But Maguire was to play a key part in Boston’s collapse as he was sent off after a handball on 61 minutes and the subsequent penalty by Regan Linney put the Blues level.
It was all Carlisle after that as they ran away with the game against the 10 men, scoring four times in the last 20 minutes to wrap up the points and stay four points ahead of Boreham Wood in the race for the key third place finish.
As if it wasn’t bad enough to lose the lead to a penalty and have a man sent off at the same time, Boston also fell behind to an own goal from Alex Lankshear on 72 minutes.
Boston then crumbled as David Ajiboye helped himself to a double in the 82nd and 88th minutes while Bevis Miugabi added the sixth in the eighth minute of time added.
