
The L&L Property Contractors Snooker League season reached its conclusion with titles decided and league positions confirmed following a compelling final round of fixtures.
Station Road Club were crowned Division One champions and Workington Golf Club secured the Division Two title, with wins over Rack Shack and Workington Legion respectively.
Needing only one frame to take the title, Workington’s Station Road Club rounded off their successful campaign with a dominant 4–1 victory at Whitehaven’s Rack Shack.
The visitors set the tone early as Tom Thompson controlled proceedings against Peter McAvoy, crafting a composed performance to take the opener 53–21.
Rack Shack’s Chris McKelvey levelled the match score in frame two with a 51-41 victory over Darren Lawson.
Station Road responded in frame three through Chris Hunter, who produced a solid performance to take the frame 65–21 against Adam Morilla for a 2-1 lead.
Any hopes of a comeback were quickly extinguished as John Teasdale delivered a measured performance to overcome Rack Shack’s Phil Denvir 52–45, giving Station Road a two-frame cushion at 3-1.
Kevin Kirkham then underlined the Division One champions authority in the final frame of the match, compiling a dominant 73–19 win over Lee Dougherty to galvanise a convincing 4–1 title winning result.
The victory caps off a superb season for Station Road Club, who finished top of Division One on 57 points. Rack Shack retained second place in Division Tw with a total of 38 points.

In the fight for the Division Two title Workington Golf Club emphatically sealed proceedings with a commanding 4–1 home victory over Workington Legion.
Despite a bright start from the visitors, where Simon Tootle edged past Mark Brasted 51–47 in a tight opener, the Golf Club responded in dominant fashion.
Bryan Walker levelled the match with a composed 50–42 win over Lewis Straughton before Phil Sorfleet produced a clinical display to dismantle Dan Hallam 54–12 to put the champions elect 2-1 ahead.
Simon Frazer showcased his scoring to extend the Golf Club lead further with a commanding 69–9 victory over Jordan Ferguson for 3-1.
Lewis Tilley stepped up in the final frame of the match to complete the job in style, comfortably defeating George Burdon 69–19 to secure a 4–1 title win.
The result confirms Workington Golf Club as Division Two champions on 41 points, while Workington Legion finish with the wooden spoon on 19 points.
In the battle for the remaining places, Workington Veterans Club avoided the drop to Division Two with a hard-fought 3–2 victory over Maryport Social in an extremely competitive contest.
Kevin Basnett opened the scoring in style, producing a break of 31 in a controlled performance to defeat Ryan Ismay 48–36 and put Vets 1-0 up.
Maryport hit back immediately, as in frame two Ben Scott took advantage of his opportunities to overcome Mark Tunstall 72–32 and level the match at 1-1.
The visitors then edged ahead through Andrew Sharp, who compiled a strong scoring display to beat Paul Johnston 78–37 and put Maryport 2–1 in front.
As the pressure mounted, Mark Tatton responded superbly for the hosts, producing a composed and clinical performance to defeat Stuart Shepherd 59–49 and force a decider.
In the final frame, Vets took control as they held their nerve in the closing exchanges to secure a 44–17 victory to clinch the match 3–2.
The result sees Veterans finish their season on a positive note in a relegation-avoiding third on 44 points, while Maryport Social finish third in Division Two on 35 points.
Finally, Workington’s United Club A produced a polished final-day performance to secure a 4–1 victory over Workington Conservative Club.
Dave Chapman opened proceedings with a confident 67–41 win over David Holland, setting the tone early.
Darryl Walters followed up with solid play to defeat Richard McCarthy 54–37, extending the home side’s advantage.
The visitors responded in frame three through Alan Moore, who delivered a composed performance to overcome Peter O’Hagan 65–36 and reduce the deficit.
However, United A quickly regained control as Clive Lister produced a measured display to defeat Ryan Barker 54–29 for a 3-1 home lead.
Andrew Mitchelhill then provided a fitting finish to both the match and the season, compiling a superb break of 30 on his way to a dominant 83–8 victory over Brian Kendall to seal the 4–1 result.
United Club A’s win reinforced their strong finish in Division One ending in second place on 52 points, while Workington Conservative Club conclude their campaign on 40 points dropping down to Division Two in the process.
