A network of volunteers in Kendal who provide support during emergency situations is continuing to expand.
Kendal Community Resilience Group, supported by the town council, is continuing to develop the vital network.
Volunteers attended their first induction evening last month, as the start of a training programme that will help them prepare for their role providing community support during emergency situations.
The new volunteers will be meeting up regularly for training sessions, workshops and socials and are looking for new people to join.
If residents of Kendal are interested in volunteering, or finding out more about the KCRG, they are encouraged to contact Kendal Town Council via [email protected].
The volunteers will also be hosting three Resilience Café drop-in sessions next month.
Free to attend and open to the public, people are encouraged to drop by to find out information and advice on emergency preparedness as well as the volunteering network.
They will be held at The Space on Finkle Street from 10am to 4pm on Friday April 3, Friday April 10 and Friday April 17.
Kendal Community Resilience Group is made up of representatives of community organisations in Kendal.
It acts as the lead for community resilience in Kendal and manages the Kendal Community Emergency Plan.
