A Carlisle man has admitted supplying cocaine, heroin and cannabis, which was exposed after he was arrested over the weekend.
Details of 21-year-old Leon Ingledow’s crimes were outlined when he appeared in a dock at the city’s magistrates’ court today.
A prosecutor told how, when Ingledow was arrested by police on Sunday on suspicion of a separate alleged offence, a wrap of cocaine was recovered from a sock.
Police also seized a mobile phone which was analysed and revealed Ingledow’s link to the supply of cocaine and heroin, along with cannabis.
In court, Ingledow admitted being concerned in the supply of all three illegal substances. He was said to have six previous convictions for 13 offences.
Ingledow had last appeared in court in connection with a theft, receiving a 10-month prison sentence after he and a partner-in-crime stole a car belonging to a vulnerable man.
Defence solicitor Chris Toms, mitigating, said Ingledow accepted the phone seized over the weekend was his, and that it contained evidence of him being concerned in drug supply.
“The scale of what is involved is unclear,” said Mr Toms of the drugs in question. “From what I can see, it is not large scale supply.”
District judge Philip Holden said it appeared to relate to street dealing. The case was committed to Carlisle Crown Court by the district judge, who concluded that magistrates’ court sentencing powers were insufficient.
Ingledow, of Howe Street, Carlisle, is due to appear at the crown court on April 27, and a probation service pre-sentence report was ordered in the meantime.
Ingledow was granted conditional bail.
