
People will have the rare chance to explore the gardens of a Cumbrian hall and raise funds for charity.
An exclusive garden party will be held at Nunwick Hall, in Great Salkeld, in June in aid of the Lake District Calvert Trust.
The gardens are opening to the public for the first time in over five years and features a Victorian garden, with many original features, renowned for its sweeping lawns, walled kitchen garden, herbaceous borders and large rockery.
The trust, alongside owners of Nunwick Hall, Myles and Jo Thompson, will host this garden party to raise vital funds for the charity, which provides life-changing outdoor adventures for people with disabilities.
All proceeds from the event on June 14 will contribute towards making residential activity breaks more accessible for people of all ages and abilities.
The trust is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
Myles said: “We’ve been hoping to host a garden party for the Calvert Trust for some time and as this is a milestone year, their 50th anniversary, we couldn’t resist the opportunity to support this incredible cause.
“We can’t wait to welcome the local community and to support the life-changing work of the Lake District Calvert Trust.”
The garden party will be held on June 14 from 2pm to 6pm.
