Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway – also known as the La’al Ratty – will feature on a major TV show later this month.
Comedian and TV presenter Paul Merton visited the railway for the new series of Channel 4 show Driving Amazing Trains.
The La’al Ratty is a 15-inch-gauge seven-mile railway and was visited by Paul earlier this year.
Paul’s fascination with trains stems from his childhood. His father was a driver on the London Underground and when, as a young boy, Paul witnessed his dad driving a train across Putney Bridge, it sparked a lifelong fascination of railways. Now, he is following in his father’s footsteps by joining the drivers.
The episode featuring the La’al Ratty is due to be broadcast on April 30 at 8pm and all episodes are available now on Channel 4+.
