The Imagine Festival for Everyone returns to Whitehaven town centre later this month.
The free two-day event, on Saturday April 25 and Sunday April 26, celebrates creativity across West Cumbria, showcasing work developed by local communities in collaboration with artists, alongside new pieces created by the artists in response to those shared experiences.
Artists involved include Janice Murray, Dave Camlin, Nanette Madan, Celia Burbush, Zoe Forster, Katy Higgins, Dave Bewick, and Sophie Bass.
It takes place across six venues – The Edge, The Rum Story, St Nicholas’ Church, Hope Haven, Whitehaven Harbour Youth Project and United Reformed Church – the programme features exhibitions, live music, dance, film, performances and drop-in workshops.
Highlights include The Knotted Project with young people at Whitehaven Harbour Youth Project, exhibitions rooted in local histories at United Reformed Church, carnival-inspired installations at St Nicholas’ Church, and hands-on creative workshops and activities across the weekend.

A central hub at St Nicholas’ Church will offer maps and a festival trail, with stewards on hand to help visitors plan their visit.
The festival runs from 11am to 5pm each day.
This year’s festival has been made possible thanks to the support of Arts Council England, Cumberland Council and University of Lancashire.
