A charity dog show is set to return to Kendal for a third year.
Local cancer charity CancerCare’s Woof & Wag dog show will be held at Abbot Hall Park on Saturday August 22 at noon, with the feature dog show kicking off at 1.30pm.
It is promising to be another fun-filled family day, with a host of activities including games, displays and stalls.
The dog show schedule will include 12 classes, with judging culminating in a best in show championship.
Categories include: Prettiest female, most handsome male, best youngster, best golden oldie (over 10 years), best rescue, dog the judge would most like to take home, most terrific trick, waggiest tail, dog most like their owner, best biscuit catcher, smiliest face, and best bad hair day.
Dog day care centre Taylor Made Dog Centre, based just outside Kendal, is sponsoring Woof & Wag for the second year in a row. The team at Taylor Made makes sure each dog is given the highest level of care and attention.
Woof & Wag is free to attend, with a £2.50 entry fee per dog, per show class. You can book your place in the dog show here.
The café and facilities at the adjacent Abbot Hall Art Gallery will be available to use on the day.
CancerCare’s South Lakes community fundraiser, Lisa Oliver-Hannis, said: “We are so honoured to be bringing CancerCare’s Woof & Wag back to the Kendal community for the third year in a row.
“With stalls, games and a dog show judged by some local legends, there is something for all the family, especially the four-legged members.
“It’s fantastic to be running such a fun and animal-focused event in aid of CancerCare, and we’re so excited to welcome fellow dog lovers for another unforgettable day.”
CancerCare is a local charity that supports adults and children affected by cancer and bereavement. It has one of its four centres on Blackhall Road in Kendal.
