Four Lake District wild campers were rescued after their tent failed in severe weather conditions.
Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team were called out yesterday, Wednesday April 15, to the campers on Scafell Pike’s Corridor Route.
Cumbria Police contacted the team to alert them to the group of males.
All four were cold, wet and unable to get off the mountain safely, prompting a full team response to reach them and bring them to safety.
The team said that despite the situation, the group were well-equipped for wild camping and had appropriate navigation gear, which helped them remain in a known location until the team’s arrival.
Once the team arrived, they assisted the group off the mountain.
The call out involved 10 team members and lasted 10 hours and 47 minutes.
