
The West Cumberland Sunday League season has to be completed by May 24th so several midweek games are being fitted in.
A large number of games had to be postponed earlier in the season but the back log is being erased.
In the Premier Division a seven-goal thriller at Wakefield Road saw Deer Orchard edge past visitors Moresby Rangers 4-3.
The ever-reliable Luke Graham helped himself to a hat-trick and Nick Wood was also on the score-sheet while Jamie Martin, Ellis Trotter and Joe Dorgan replied for Moresby.
A Division One clash saw Sun Inn beat Workington Falcons 4-2 with goals from Kieran Robinson (2), Kieran McCluskey and Jack Coyne. Declan Moore and Arron Glaister were on target for the Falcons.
The other three games were in the League Cup group stages with wins for Maryport Amateurs and Royal Oak, while it was honours even between Mitrehouse and Senhouse Street Club.
Maryport beat King’s Arms 2-0 with goals from Ethan Harris and Jack Morgan while the Oak beat the Swan 6-0 as Carl Lofthouse (2), Blake Hardy, Brandon Tolson, George West and Connor Buck were on the score-sheet.
Division One champions Senhouse Street and Mirehouse finished 3-3 as Gary O’Driscoll (2) and Jack Reid scored for the Workington side and Josh Atkinson, Ryan Smith and Cyran Corlett responded for Mirehouse.
There’s a Sunday League final tonight at the Fibrus Community Stadium, Workington where the Zebras (Division One) will be the underdogs against Premier Division champions Northside in the Albert Murphy Trophy (kick-off 7pm.
Sunday’s fixtures are headed by the Sunday County Cup semi-final (11am) between Northside and Morton West at Curwen Park.
