An 11-year-old superfan of Kendal Town did not hesitate when his side issued a plea for help to fix the clubhouse roof.
The Northern League club launched Raise the Roof – fundraising efforts during April to show that the community cares about the local football club.
And youngster Bradley Phillips has stepped up to help.
The club – previously known as Netherfield – is 107 years old – so the whole fundraising programme is being labelled as the 107 Challenge and they are looking to raise £10,000.
Bradley opted for a walking challenge with a distance of 10.7km to match the 107-year-old club.
Fundraising took off fast with £1,000 raised in just 48 hours.
Bradley completed this challenge along with his mum Louise and grandparents John and Christine Whiteley yesterday, Sunday April 19.
His total raised now stands at £1,855, with donations accepted until the end of April.
Louise said: “We are so proud of Bradley this was a long walk in warm weather. Bradley has had wonderful support from the community.
“The club is like one big family. Everyone is so welcoming and kind, Bradley’s favourite player James Bailey always makes time to come over after each game.
“The match days are family friendly so it’s often that three generations of us go, it’s a great atmosphere! Bradley also attends a lot of away games with his dad Pat.”
