Goole Vikings gained revenge for last week’s Championship defeat to Whitehaven with an emphatic 40-10 win in the 1895 Cup competition.
The victory has earned the Humbersiders with a trip to Rochdale Hornets in the quarter finals.
They had the match won by half time as they turned round 34-0 ahead after dominating a slow starting Whitehaven side.
The game was lost but Haven showed resolve in the second half and won it 10-6 to provide some positive vibes to take on the long trip back home.
The Vikings scored six unanswered tries in the first half, five of them converted and they also had two other tries disallowed.
Shane Tuohey and Connor Barley each scored twice and the others came from Brett Ferres and Tom Halliday. Callum Rutland did the kicking.
The second half was much more competitive after Haven got on the board within five minutes through Ben Pearce.
Goole scored their only points of the half on the hour when Brad Bullock crashed over from close range and Rutland converted.
It was Whitehaven who had the last word when Jay Weatherill scored the second try on 69 minutes, converted by Ciaran Walker.
