Two men have been arrested after people raised concerns about the welfare of animals at a Carlisle property.
Cumbria police’s Carlisle Neighbourhood Policing Team, its dog unit and Cumberland Council officers raided the property in the Wigton Road area yesterday, Monday April 20.
The men, both in their 20s, have been arrested for a range of offences including causing unnecessary suffering to animals.
Last night, police said they remained in custody and were helping officers with their enquiries.
A number of animals have been seized and have received local vet treatment before being placed in the custody of police partners.
Carlisle police said: “Officers would like to place on record those members of the public who have expressed concerns and provided intelligence.”
