
All three senior Cumbrian National League sides won at the weekend to make further progress in their respective competitions.
Wath Brow are up to fifth in the Premier Division after their 50-12 demolition of visitors Heworth, who dropped into the relegation zone as a result.
The visitors had actually been first on the score-sheet with a try from Billy Sturdy, converted by Jack Sadler but by half-time the Hornets had established an 18-6 lead before pulling away after the break.
Andrew Bulman (2)m Karl Dixon and Reuben Butterworth all cross with Sam Curwen converting one of them.
Wath Brow emphasised their superiority in the second-half with further tries from Dean Rooney (2), Devon Sharp (2), Curwen and one of their England Under-19s Billy-Joe Towers. Curwen added four more goals.

In Division One Kells continue to chase leaders Dewsbury Celtic and stayed on their heels with another impressive away win, this time at Stanningley by 36-10.
It wasn’t looking promising midway through the first half with the hosts leading 10-4 through two tries and a conversion.
But in the second quarter Kells hit back and by the break had got themselves into a 16-10 lead.
Clarke Chambers had actually scored the first try of the game and in the end the West Cumbrians scored five further tries through Harley Nelson (2), Ryan Starkie, Finn Miller and Sam Murtagh. Ross Gainford (5) and brother Grant (1) kicked the goals.

Coach Peter Smith was unable to travel on Saturday but his assistant Steve Kirkbride said: “It was nip and tuck for the first 20 minutes and then we took control.
“Only making five errors and conceding just five penalties contributed to the performance with regards to holding onto possession.
“We scrambled really well in defence, and defended our own goal line really well on numerous occasions.
“There were some good individual performances and some excellent team tries.”

Egremont Rangers completed the Cumbrian full-house with an excellent 46-24 win at struggling Pilkington Recs.
Danny Barker’s side finished really strongly as just short of the hour they were only 24-16 to the good, after they had led 18-10 at half-time.
Jake Conway, Sam Williams and Jenson Burney had scored first-half tries, converted by Joe Lewis.

In their excellent second-half effort Australian Connor Williams helped himself to a hat-trick of tries and was joined on the score-sheet by Conway, Burney and Lewis, the latter finishing with five goals.
