Whitehaven have landed three loan signings to bolster the squad ahead of this weekend’s Championship clash at Dewsbury Rams.
21-year-old prop Alfie Sinclair has joined on a week’s loan from Betfred Super League side St Helens having made two appearances for Saints.
He made his debut in the Challenge Cup tie against West Hull last season, also having spells at Swinton and North Wales.
He played against Haven in the opening League One clash of 2025 for the Lions.
Also arriving are Alfie Briggs and Rowan Stephenson from Wakefield Trinity.
The youngsters will join the club on an initial two-week loan meaning they will be available for the next two Championship fixtures away to both Dewsbury and Swinton.
Briggs is another prop forward who will make his professional debut if selected for this weekend’s clash although he was on the bench for Trinity in a pre-season friendly with champions Hull KR.
Half-back Stephenson has previously made his professional bow for Trinity coming off the bench in a 46-0 victory over Barrow back in September 2024.
A Whitehaven spokesman said: “We would like to thank both clubs for their co-operation in the players joining us and we hope the trio enjoy their time in the chocolate, blue and gold.”
With a series of knocks and departures, coach James Newton has been keen to add to the squad.
