After their 70-point mauling at Oldham last week, Workington Town coach Jonty Gorley demanded a response from his players.
That totally unacceptable performance certainly brought the right reaction as they produced a workmanlike performance to win 38-6 at Hunslet.
Town needed to start well and that was obvious in their opening play as they broke the deadlock on eight minutes when the ball was moved wide.
Oscar Doran made 30 metres before finding Jake Carter inside to complete the move with the touchdown which he improved.
Three minutes later they were in again as Alex Donaghy celebrated his 100th career start by acrobatically scoring in the corner and Carter landed a fine touchline conversion.
Hunslet came back and it needed a try-saving tackle from Donaghy to keep the Town line intact.
Then a clever kick from Dom Wear put Town on the front foot and when Hunslet were penalised for offside three metres out Carter took the two points on offer.
Hunslet did pose threats towards the end of the half before Town forced a knock on just shy of their line as huge tackles from Bear Williams and Guy Graham kept the home side out.
However, on the stroke of half-time Hunslet did score to cut the gap to 14-6 as Ant Walker crashed over and Dan Abram converted.
Town started the second half on the front foot and nearly got over through Mason Lewthwaite but they did extend their lead through Donaghy, with another good conversion by Carter.
There was to be no hat-trick for the new centurion for Donaghy was taken high off the ball and had to leave the field.
Galea created the next try for Oscar Doran with a neat kick which the winger collected to score and another Carter conversion extended the Town lead.
The try of the game came with two minutes left when Galea raced away from half the Hunslet team to go under the posts and enable Carter to land his seventh goal.
