Workington Town will have a new face in the squad to host Sheffield Eagles at the Fibrus Community Stadium on Sunday.
Hooker Ben Hartill is on a week’s loan from Warrington Wolves after help from Cumbrian Gary Chambers in arranging the deal.
Hartill is a promising young prospect, held in high regard for his leadership and technical skill at dummy-half.
A product of the club’s youth system, he is the son of former Swinton and Leigh winner Dave. .
Hartill spent time on loan at Swinton last season after he had made his Wolves senior debut the year before against Wigan Warriors, going on to play four Super League games in 2025.
A product of the Crosfields amateur club he is described by Warrington coaches as a smart player with excellent game management, high defensive work rate and a strong ability to control the game from dummy-half.
He was a captain of the Warrington academy side and named their Most Valuable Player in 2023.
Hartill will be in the 17 that coach Jonty Gorley names for the game as he tries to ease the burden on Callum Phillip and Jamie Doran operating at nine.

Sheffield have confirmed the permanent signing of half-back Jordan Abdull from Widnes on a two-and-a-half year deal.
