Kells paid their annual tribute to former player Cameron Tadge Taylor in a game for a special memorial trophy.
This year’s encounter was with Lowca in the Cumbria Men’s League and it was the villagers who swept to a 60-10 victory.
Man of the match Emerson Allen scored two tries as did Jordan Allen and the other touchdowns came from Quinn Ennis, Addison Callander, Tom Spires, Ellis Crone, Finn Barwise and Billy Penrice. Jamie Scott kicked ten goals.
Lowca had led 24-0 at half-time and pulled away in the second half with James Ennis scoring all of Kells points from two tries and a goal.
There was a good contest at Aspatria where the Hornets beat Maryport A and it was a welcome return home for the Nomads.
Including friendlies this was their 10th of the season and the first time they had been back at their own ground of Beacon Hill.
An excellent young Maryport side battled all the way before going down 34-20 in what proved to be an entertaining game.
They had pushed the Hornets until the mid-point of the second-half when the more experienced home side started to pull clear.
Aspatria’s try scorers were man of the match Ben Tootill with two tries and five conversions, along with Keenan Foster, James Robinson, Brad Thomson and Francis Dixon.

The match was referee by former Aspatria player Luke Johnson who made an excellent debut with the whistle.
Hornets secretary Mark Ridley said: “We would like to thank Silloth, Aspatria and Wigton rugby unions clubs for accommodating us so we could host games while our own pitch dried out.”
For Maryport A the tries were scored by winger Connor Mottley (2), substitute hooker Callum Toal and full-back Bobby Bell.
Centre Lewis Walling kicked two goals while loose forward Finley Moore was man of the match for an all-action performance.
In a South Cumbrian derby Askam beat Roose Pioneers 34-14 with tries from Matty Holmes (2), Dale Lambton, Luke Thompson, Connor Saunders and Eddie Goodson. Saunders landed five conversions.
The Roose tries were scored by Alfie Coxon, Harvey Hufton and Ethan Bowness plus a goal from Lewis Stables.
Wath Brow A were back to winning ways after their narrow defeat to Egremont A when they won 66-8 against Flimby Vikings.
The 12 tries were scored by Greg Dawson (2), Tom Clarke (2), Logan Fowler (2), Bradley Todd, Daley Stables, Jake Greenhough, Jamie McAllister, Kaleb Crosby and Evan Alick. The kicking was done by Crosby (6) and Matt Sibbald (3).
Wath Brow’s only conquerors so far, Egremont A continued their good run with a big 68-24 win at Glasson Rangers.

Sam Dixon led the way with a hat-trick of tries and also crossing were John-Paul Brocklebank (2), Ben Walker (2), Nathan Preston, Liam Gilfoyle, Charlie Biggins, Tyler Elliott and Kaiden Block who kicked ten goals.
It was 28-12 at half-time with Luke Johnson scoring all Glasson’s points from two tries which he converted.
Glasson started the second period brightly with a Jordan Dobson try in the first set with Johnson adding the goal and with 12 points in it there was still much to play for.
But then a lack of field position and possession for Glasson allowed Egremont to run riot with a flurry of points.
All that Glasson could add after that was a try from Shane Williams converted by Johnson. Best wishes go to Liam Ferguson who suffered a broken tibia during the game.
In the other game Hensingham A won 34-10 t Millom A with tries from Matthew Williams (2), Nathaniel Frankland, Taylan Buchanan, Ben McPherson, Henley Donnan and Corey-Jay Turner. Dane Richardson kicked three goals.
Millom’s tries were scored by Jack Craghill and Tom Newbegin.
