Cumbria Women will be without 14 Keswick players from their squad when they play their second Gill Burns County Championship game at Wigton on Sunday.
The Keswick Falcons are involved in the Intermediate Women’s Plate final at Coventry on Sunday, chasing a double after being crowned NC1 North League champions.
Cumbria head coach Ally Ratcliffe said: “That is a lot of players to take out of a squad but we have depth to the talent available in the county and are hopeful of another big performance.”
They host Oxfordshire, a team they famously beat 97-0 at Upper Eden’s Pennine Park in the 2023/24 season when they went all the way to Twickenham.
Ratcliffe added: “The Leicestershire team we played on Sunday had changed a lot from last year so I have no doubt that Oxfordshire will be bringing a much-changed team on Sunday.
“We are looking forward to it as this will be the first time we have played a county women’s game there.”
The Cumbria squad is: Hannah Metcalfe (Kendal), Anna King (Carlisle), Amber Byers (Kendal), Hailey Coutts (Kendal), Shannon Sowerby (Upper Erden), Charlotte Morphet (Keswick), Vanessa Hagen (Carlisle), Susie Winter (Kendal), Sian Laud (Penrith), Sarah Smyth (Carlisle), Lexi Hodgson (Penrith), Hannah Sherlock (Carlisle), Sophie Weir (Workington), Lauren Oates (Kendal), Meagan McAndrew (Workington), Danielle Easdon (Workington), Hayley Liddle (Carlisle), Neve Winder (Penrith), Ruby Kirkham (Kendal), Alysha Greenwood (Carlisle), Sadie Petch (Carlisle), Verity Whitehouse (Upper Eden), Emma Kellett (Penrith).
Simon Barker will be the referee, assisted on the touch lines by Stephen Elliott and Stewart Mounsey with the fourth official, Alasdair Boyle. Kick-off is 1pm.
